In May 2005, OKI Printing Solutions became proud sponsors of Portsmouth FC, in a deal worth over £1.6 million for the 2005/6 and 2006/7 seasons. And, we're pleased to announce that we're extending this agreement until June 2009.
Peter Storrie, Portsmouth FC Chief Executive, said: "We're absolutely delighted to have signed an extension to the contract. OKI have been a great sponsor for us and the new deal allows us to continue our positive working relationship and represents the largest commercial deal in the club's history to date."
With such a strong link to Asia, OKI Printing Solutions' were proud to see Portsmouth FC take part in the prestigious Barclays Asia Trophy Cup between 24th and 27th of July 2007. Portsmouth FC held their nerve to lift the Barclays Asia Trophy after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory over Liverpool at the Hong Kong Stadium.
In addition to the team's on field success, OKI Printing Solutions believes in the value of building community relationships, which has been reflected in the activities that we have put into action with Portsmouth FC:
Launched in October 2005, Caught in Colour captures the pride and passion of Pompey fans on film. It has been hugely successful; each match weekend, 9 lucky fans win some great prizes when their photograph is chosen to feature on www.caughtincolour.com.
The OKI Printing Solutions community programme, Access all Areas, aims to benefit those who don't have access to Portsmouth FC. During the 2005/06 season we gave over 120 match tickets to worthy individuals.
In addition, OKI Printing Solutions has arranged numerous visits by Portsmouth players to centres for children with disabilities. These visits have provided the centres with an enhanced profile through the high level of media coverage they have attracted and given the children a taste of Pompey passion.
OKI Printing Solutions (UK) has also been working with the Hampshire Constabulary since 1999 to create the OKI Street Sixes Youth Football League. OKI Street Sixes is 6-a-side football league giving kids between the ages of 7-17 the opportunity to play football, free of charge, on a weekly basis throughout the season. Its system of allocating red and yellow cards for anti-social behaviour off the pitch as well as the sporting opportunity it provides on the pitch, has led to a reduction in crime in the area, showing a benefit to the greater community.
In October 2006, Portsmouth and England defender Sol Campbell heightened the profile of this initiative when he was unveiled as its ambassador.
