OKI Printing Solutions and Portsmouth FC – winning combination reach the FA Cup final dream
Tokyo, 15th April 2008
OKI Printing Solutions, Portsmouth Football Club's main sponsor, today announced that the Club will be at Wembley, the 'venue of legends' on 17th May for the The Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the FA Cup final.
The FA Cup is the oldest football competition in the world which was established in 1871. The Cup involves clubs in the English football league system. The competition is a knockout tournament with pairings drawn completely at random. There are no seeds and a draw takes place after the majority of matches have been played in each round.
Portsmouth F.C. plays in the Barclays Premier League. The Premier League is currently contested by 20 clubs and Portsmouth F.C. stands at an impressive 6th place. Portsmouth F.C. reaching the FA Cup final is the first time since 1939, after winning the FA Cup semi-final on 5th April. It was the same day the Club celebrated its 110th birthday.
Phil Scrase, Managing Director of OKI Printing Solutions UK said: "OKI Printing Solutions and Portsmouth have both enjoyed great success since we began our partnership in 2005. OKI has established itself as the second largest provider of business printers in Europe, while Portsmouth F.C. has become one of the leading clubs in the Premier League and has now reached the FA Cup final. We wish the team all the best for the big game."
The 2008 FA Cup final is scheduled to be held at Wembley Stadium, London, UK on 17 May 2008. Portsmouth F.C. will be playing Cardiff City FC, a Championship side who beat off Barnsley in the semi-final.
