OKI Data Corporation Establishes Printer Sales Office in Australia

SYDNEY, December 1, 2009 - OKI Data Corporation, which markets its products under the OKI Printing Solutions brand, today announced that it has established a sales office by acquiring its existing local dealer. Following on from this, the company plans to enhance its presence in Australia and in turn, bolster its color page printer share to 10% by fiscal year 2011.
In 2008, Australia’s business printer and MFP market (excluding ink-jet) was the ninth largest in the world. 670,000 units were shipped during the year which equates to 980 million USD.
Color page printers and MFPs represent almost 30% of Australia’s business printer and MFP market (excluding inkjet products). The market is expected to grow by 5% annually and therefore represents a key focus for company growth.
OKI Data Corporation has been conducting business in Australia since 1982. Its products are well-known in the medical, retail and transportation sector for their durability and reliability and have gained a strong sales track record. The Australian office will focus on delivering high-quality customer service and after-sales care for its customers, developing stronger business relationships and expanding its distribution channel.
