1961
Oki Electric developed the OKITAC-5090, its first electronic computer. It was a general- purpose computer and was the first domestically produced computer to use core memory.
Oki Electric launched its first electronic teletypewriter
1964
Launch of OKI Printing Solutions' first Serial Impact Dot Matrix (SIDM) printer.
1965
The OKIDATA2400 small line printer became a best seller - it used Oki's proprietary type belt technology and was sold into the mini-computer market, financial industry and OEM's in Japan.
The electric typewriter, OKITYPER 4500, an innovative cost effective machine commenced sales in global markets such as Singapore and East Africa.
The OKITYPER 6000, the world's fastest printer at 20 characters per second, sold over 7000 units.
1966
The OKISAVER M-1, the first banking terminal, established OKI as the industry leader.
1967
The Fuji Bank installed its online savings account system using OKISAVER terminals.
2400 Baud Line Printer, the OKIDATA2400 small line printer, established itself as a bestseller.
1969
Having experienced the beneficial effects of real-time online processing first hand, the Fuji Bank decided to install an online network to cover all deposits and foreign exchange transactions. The success of the Fuji Bank system stimulated other banks and companies in the securities industry to install similar systems, many of these using the OKISAVER and other Oki Electric terminals.
