Our innovations: 2000 to now

2006

OKI Printing Solutions developed a Product Design Strategy that reflected the company's brand strategy and acknowledged the changing global trends in office design. The new C3000 Series (launched in May 2006) was the first of OKI Printing Solutions' product lines to reflect this new approach.

The C3000 Series digital LED color printers were awarded the 'Good Design Award' - Japan's only comprehensive product design, evaluation and commendation system - for this new design.

In November, OKI Printing Solutions carved out a new category of affordable color printers for business with the introduction of the C8000 Series. Quiet, compact and half the overall size of competitor products, the C8000 Series is an ideal solution in businesses where space is a premium, or for organizations that want the benefits that A3 color and mono printing can provide.

2000

In 2000 we introduced a new portfolio of digital color printers: the C7000 and C9000 Series. These color printers revolutionized the market by delivering a product that was able to print color at three times the speed of its competitors, while at the same time having a mono print speed equal to that of a mono workgroup printer.

2002

Building on the success of the C7000 and C9000 Series, the end of 2002 witnessed the launch of the next generation series. These new models had more automatic features, such as auto media detect and auto color balance, making the products more user-friendly.

2003

We identified the need amongst small and medium-sized businesses for affordable color printers that did not compromise on quality, speed or cost. Our recognition of this new market segment led to the design of the highly successful C5000 Series.

2004

Several new products were introduced into the color and mono range, all boasting reduced running costs and increased print speeds.

We introduced mono Multifunction Products (MFP), the B4500 Series MFP; designed so that users can maximize productivity and space, optimize communication flows and make the most out of limited space with printing, scanning, copying and faxing capabilities.

The results of a major piece of research, commissioned by OKI Printing Solutions, into color psychology and the unconscious effects of color were published. The research was part of the "Campaign for Color", an initiative designed to position us as an expert in color and to help us build awareness with a broader business audience. The research was conducted in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Sweden
