1951
Oki Electric's shares were listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1953
Oki Electric introduced teletypewriter technology from Western Electric.
The Page Teletypewriter, Oki's first page type Roman/Japanese tele-printer, called Teletype model 55. 50 Baud (bit/sec), with 6 characters per second print speed, was launched.
An Address Printer, a printer designed to print on invoice and receipt papers, was introduced. This printer used a type palette mounted on a wheel to print at 7.5 characters per second.
1955
A Kanji Teletypewriter, a revolutionary non-impact Kanji printer, capable of printing 2500 kinds of Kanji characters at two characters per second was launched.
1956
A Marine Page Teletypewriter (used for the South Pole exploration ship, Soya Maru), with a unique anti-motion printing mechanism, using a wire-driven type box and housing up to 128 characters, was launched.
1957
The bestseller electric typewriter, OKI TYPER 2000, sold over 20,000 units.
